Queen Pageant and Coronation Ball

General Information
The Pageants normally held at the GI Forum facilities. The candidates should possess scholarship interest and be committed to continuing their education beyond high school. Each candidate will deliver a 2-3 minute speech on a subject of her choice. Candidates will be judged on their appearance, poise and speech.

Six contestants will be selected and must attend scheduled rehearsals prior to the pageant. Failure to attend rehearsals is cause for disqualification. The Chapter Queen is selected by a panel of potential judges selected by the San Jose Chapter of the American GI Forum. The newly crowned Miss San Jose GI Forum will represent the Chapter in the state pageant..

The Chapter Queen receives a scholarship, a trophy, a bouquet of roses, a crown and a cape. The crown and cape are returned to the chapter when reigning queen relinquishes her crown to the following year's queen. she also receives an expense paid trip to the California State Competition which includes a dress allowance for the competition.
