Membership Information

Fees
$50.00 annual membership fee includes local, state and national dues. Members receive a subscription to The Leader, the official monthly newsletter of the San Jose GI Forum, and free admission to the annual Flores Mexicanas Coronation Ball, Barrio Conference, Fiestas Patrias Grand Marshal Reception and Family Picnic.

Qualifications to join
Anyone honorably discharged veteran of the Armed Forces of the United States is eligible for membership, as is any person who is approved by the membership.

Do non-veterans have the same privileges as veterans?
In the local chapter, yes. They can vote, run for office, and take part in every activity. At the regional, state and national level, they cannot hold certain elective offices in the organization.

General Membership Meeting
Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month (except when that day conflicts with Cinco de Mayo, or a major holiday, and is changed by one week). The meeting site is in the American GI Forum of San Jose Chapter, located at 765 Story Rd (behind new Wal-Mart). Please check San Jose GI Forum calendar, or call 408-288-9470 for further information.
