Hello,

My name is Marcelo R. Jasso and I am the Webmaster for the San Jose GI Forum. I became non-veteran member of the East Valley GI Forum in 1978 when I was a teenager. My father Marcelo H. Jasso and late mother Paula Rodriguez Jasso have always been dedicated GI Forum Members and I try to carry on that tradition! I began using computers in 1979 while attending Evergreen Valley College and I graduated from Evergreen Valley College in 1981 with a Associated Arts Degree in Drafting Technology and Engineering. In 1981, I got my first job with Ames Research Center and there I was a UNIX Computer Operator, Computer User, and Computer Administrator. Seeking further opportunity I changed jobs. While Majoring in Computer Science at San Jose State University, I began to work at then Lockheed Missiles and Space Corporation. At Lockheed Missiles and Space I was a Senior Engineering Drafter and Designer and I used the latest computer software technology to develop hardware for the United States Defense Department. Later between jobs I got a computer repair certificate. At IBM I work in a clean room where computer hard drives where manufactured. Shortly after leaving IBM, I eventually completed my Bachelors of Science Degree in Information Systems at the National Hispanic University. As a contractor I worked upgrading computers for various computer companies. Around 2000, I rejoined the GI Forum as a San Jose Member. That year, using a data base, I was the registrar for the GI Forum State Conference Hosted by the San Jose GI Forum. Today while enjoying my early retirement I like to build web pages using HTML, XHTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, MYSQL - database, and PHP - server side Codes and work part-time at Target. I will always support the American GI Forum efforts in some form because the American GI Forum is for building strong communities.

Thank you,
Webmaster
